The Spirit Of The Web

Don't Look Down

Being passionate about the content of our devices is one thing, but letting it consume us — taking us away from the real world — is another. Naomi will challenge what can be of inspiration to us, when looking up from the screen. What can make us better at our craft, and generally happier in life, when our nose isn't lit by that oh so unflattering light.

Sorting out the designers from the developers

An interactive session to create a live infographic based on audience participation. Don't worry though, it's not too interactive ;)

When responsive sites work as well as a chocolate iPhone

Ling from LINGsCARS will demonstrate why the experts are often wrong and why you need un-responsive mobile sites. She says "Making my website responsive would simply explode an iPhone on impact, and set an Android phone processor on fire. It would be a superb one off viral, but I can't afford the litigation".

Crafting your Toolset

Everyone's process is different and it's always fascinating to see how other designers and developers approach a new project. Eddie will walk through how he went about building the Handheld 2013 site and the trials and tribulations he endured. Bring some tissues, it's going to be a real tear jerker.
